Middle School Language Arts

This Middle school Language Arts course includes two main focuses. Literature-based Language Arts and a Writing Lab time. Literature-based language arts studies use individual "novel studies" to teach skills in reading, writing, grammar, and literary analysis through a structured, literature-based approach. Students will analyze a range of texts —including novels, graphic novels, poetry, essays, comics, and short stories. Writing Lab dives into unit-based writings in foundational reveiw of sentence structure, paragraph compositions with an emphasis in fluency and writing foundations. Students get hands-on with Core Academic Writing: Narrative, Expository, and Research Writing. Along with literary writings such as poetry, short stories, journalism, and novels. This is the class to build solid foundations and take your love of Language Arts and writing to a new level!

Atmosphere and Space Science

From ocean depths to distant galaxies, this Earth and Space Science class covers space, atmosphere, weather, and ocean science. From textbook discoveries to hands-on labs, this class will include Socratic discussion, hands-on discoveries, & deep exploration. Students will end their class with a science fair as they demonstrate and present their findings from the depths of the oceans, patterns of weather, and the composition of galaxies.

Journey through the American story in a class designed to help history come alive.
American History isn’t just a class its a journey at Collective Academy! Animal Science

Your animal lover won’t want to miss this hands-on course of Animal Science at the Collective Academy Farm! Class is held outside, rain or shine, where they'll dive into the essential skills of caring for these animals and the science behind it. They’ll get all of the practical experience with goats, chickens, bunnies, Mini highland cows and more. Students will learn basics in farm management, including record-keeping and managing feed inventory, while learning the biology and anatomy of our farm animals!

In this class, students learn how to bake traditional favorites the way they were originally made — from scratch. Band

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or you're already a seasoned player, this class is for you! Collective Band welcomes all skill levels and brings out the next level of musicians through playing the songs you love. Students will explore a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals, and more. The group will collaborate to build a setlist from student song choices, rehearse together, and grow as a team. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn, listen, and jam. The class will end with a concert performance to showcase the band’s progress in a final concert for family and friends. Instruments are provided. Come ready to make some noise and have fun!

This class will accomidate begining builders and advanced builders. Crochet & Needle Work

Crochet & Needlework is a skill-building class designed to develop craftsmanship, precision, and creative confidence at every level. Students are grouped by experience level, pattern-reading ability, and prior knowledge to ensure appropriate challenge and steady growth. Beginners learn foundational skills such as understanding yarn and needle sizing, basic crochet stitches, simple hand sewing techniques, stitch counting, tension control, and completing small starter projects. Intermediate students build on those skills by learning additional stitches, increasing and decreasing, working in rounds, reading multi-row patterns, and constructing more detailed accessories or garments. Advanced students focus on complex stitch combinations, shaping techniques, advanced pattern reading, garment construction, decorative finishing, and independent project planning. Throughout the course, students complete practical projects while developing precision, patience, craftsmanship, and confidence in creating finished pieces they can use, gift, or sell.
