High School Language Arts

This high school Language Arts course includes two main focuses. Literature-based Language Arts and a Writing Lab time. Literature-based language arts studies use individual "novel studies" to teach skills in reading, writing, grammar, and literary analysis through a structured, literature-based approach. Students will analyze a range of texts —including novels, graphic novels, poetry, essays, comics, and short stories. Writing Lab dives into unit-based writings in Core Academic Writings - Narrative Writing, Expository Writing, Argumentative Writing, Analytical Writing, and Research Writing. Finance*

Collective Personal Finance is recommended for 11th or 12th grade and is designed to help raise confident, capable leaders who are equipped to win in life. This unique course fulfills a full math credit while preparing students with real-world financial skills that give them an advantage far beyond high school.
Through hands-on projects, students will learn how to budget wisely, save intentionally, invest with vision, understand income and taxes, evaluate employee benefits, explore career paths, develop business ideas, and calculate the real costs of adult life. Your animal lover won’t want to miss this hands-on course of Animal Science at the Collective Academy Farm! Band

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or you're already a seasoned player, this class is for you! Collective Band welcomes all skill levels and brings out the next level of musicians through playing the songs you love. Students will explore a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals, and more. The group will collaborate to build a setlist from student song choices, rehearse together, and grow as a team. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn, listen, and jam. Crochet & Needle Work

Crochet & Needlework is a skill-building class designed to develop craftsmanship, precision, and creative confidence at every level. Students are grouped by experience level, pattern-reading ability, and prior knowledge to ensure appropriate challenge and steady growth. Beginners learn foundational skills such as understanding yarn and needle sizing, basic crochet stitches, simple hand sewing techniques, stitch counting, tension control, and completing small starter projects. Intermediate students build on those skills by learning additional stitches, increasing and decreasing, working in rounds, reading multi-row patterns, and constructing more detailed accessories or garments. Advanced students focus on complex stitch combinations, shaping techniques, advanced pattern reading, garment construction, decorative finishing, and independent project planning. This high school robotics course challenges students to design, build, and program competitive robots using the VEX V5 system. Movie making and Video Editing at Collective Academy teaches students how to turn raw footage into polished, purposeful content. Students will learn foundational editing skills such as cutting clips, organizing timelines, adding transitions, working with music and sound, creating titles, and exporting finished videos. Using guided projects, students will practice storytelling through video while developing technical skills that can be applied to school projects, social media, and creative media work.
Each lesson focuses on clear workflows, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving as students build confidence using editing software and producing finished pieces from start to finish.
